            O'Malley room

            Grainnie O'Malley is known in Irish culture as the "Pirate Queen." Born in 1530, she wished to join her father's trips to sea, but could not because she was a girl. She cut off her hair, donned boy's clothes and was known as Grainnie the bald. She led fleets of ships during battles.

              The Irish poet, William Butler Yeats, was born in 1865 in Dublin. He was one of the greatest English language Irish poets of the 20th century. He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1923. His poem, "The Lake Isle of Innisfree," inspired the naming of this B & B.
